INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIAD
in Additive Technologies

Main idea
The initiative aims to develop human resource capacity in the field of additive manufacturing, to increase young people’s interest in modern manufacturing technologies, and to strengthen collaboration between education, science and industry. The competition aims to identify and support talented students and young professionals, develop their practical skills and create conditions for their further professional development.

Competencies
3D modelling
Creating accurate 3D models of engineering structures using parametric and solid modelling
Design
Development of components and assemblies with specified performance characteristics (strength, rigidity, thermal stability, leak-tightness)
Technical Preparation
Analysis of geometry for manufacturability, placement of support structures, optimisation of part orientation within the chamber, slicing and selection of print parameters to minimise deformation, shrinkage and material consumption whilst maintaining strength properties
Generative Design and Analysis
The application of artificial intelligence tools for generative design (topological optimisation), stress-strain state prediction, and automatic geometry adjustment to reduce mass
Digital Acceleration of Development
The implementation and use of digital technologies to accelerate design and prototyping
Presentation and defence of engineering solutions
Preparation and compelling visualisation of a technical solution: a clear demonstration of compliance with the requirements of the technical specifications, as well as a concise justification for the choice of design schemes and materials used
