Singapore is launching a three-year plan to significantly enhance its aviation safety: strengthening cabin safety during turbulence encounters, upgrading regulations for new technologies and tackling the risk of radio frequency interference in aircraft systems. The initiative will modernize air traffic control with new technology and implement advanced data analytics to better predict and manage risks. These measures aim to proactively address safety concerns and manage the increasing air traffic volumes.
Economists upgrade Singapore's 2025 growth forecast to 2.4%.
Economists have raised Singapore's economic growth outlook for 2025 to 2.4%, an increase from the previous projection. This was after second-quarter growth outperformed respondents’ expectations in the June survey. They had expected GDP to grow 3 per cent in Q2, but the eventual figure was 4.4 per cent. This difference was largely because exports, as well as the performance of the manufacturing, construction and wholesale and retail trade sectors, exceeded their expectations.

City Developments Limited (CDL) has placed the Quayside Isle retail mall, located in the Sentosa Cove precinct, on the market for S$111 million. CDL group chief executive officer Sherman Kwek said last year that the group aims to divest at least S$600 million worth of assets this year to lower its “very high” gearing. The expression of interest exercise for the mall will close on Oct 15.
