From 19 March, everyone travelling by car through the Woodlands and Tuas immigration checkpoints will be able to use QR codes instead of passports
The codes can be used individually and for groups of up to 10 people travelling in the same vehicle. To use the codes, people need to download the MyICA app and fill in their passport details. Singapore residents can fill in the form automatically using Singpass.
The new visa will be different from a work visa, which has a complicated application procedure. This visa will allow foreigners to work part-time with a short-term or student visa. In this way, they will be able to cover living and travelling expenses in China.
