BCA forecasts $47-53 billion in construction contracts for 2026.

Some $47 billion to $53 billion in construction contracts across the public and private sectors are expected to be awarded in 2026, driven by projects such as Changi Airport Terminal 5 and the Marina Bay Sands expansion. BCA expects total construction demand from 2027 to 2030 to range from $39 billion to $46 billion each year.

SIA is top-ranked airline, at 24th overall on Fortune’s list of world’s most admired companies.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has once again secured the top spot as an airline and is ranked 24th overall on Fortune magazine’s list of the world’s most admired companies. The national carrier’s overall rank is up four spots from the 28th spot in 2025.

BYD is the Singapore's best-selling car brand

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer (EV) BYD has become the best-selling car brand in the republic after it topped the sales rankings in 2025, accounting for more than 20% of all new car sales. BYD has topped this list for the first time. New car registration data includes sales through official distributors and dealers, as well as parallel imports.

Changi Airport deploys driverless tractors for baggage transfer.

Changi Airport has deployed its first fleet of fully driverless tractors for airside operations after nearly a year of trials. Two autonomous tractors have been rolled out in live operations to transfer passenger bags between Terminal 1's and Terminal 4’s baggage handling areas, Changi Airport Group (CAG) said on Tuesday (Jan 20).

Changi Airport records all-time high of nearly 70 million passenger movements in 2025.

Singapore's Changi Airport recorded an all-time high of 69.98 million passenger movements in 2025. This was an improvement of 3.4 per cent compared to 2024, the Changi Airport Group (CAG) said in a media release on Thursday (Jan 22). Aircraft movements, which include landings and take-offs, rose 2.2 per cent year on year to 374,000 movements. Airfreight throughput totalled 2.08 million tonnes in 2025, exceeding the previous year by 4.5 per cent. This makes it one of the best cargo performances in Changi Airport’s history, CAG said.
